Day 1 -
Monday
USA /
LISBON Tour
members meet for our flight to Lisbon, Portugal. Meals
are served on board.
Day 2 -
Tuesday
LISBON /
FATIMA
Arrive Lisbon, Portugal and meet
your Pilgrimage Tours’ tour director who will remain with you
until the end of your tour. Transfer from the airport to the
city of Lisbon, where we will have Mass at the birthplace of
St. Anthony of Padua, followed by a panoramic tour of the
city. Continue to Fatima where we arrive for dinner and
overnight.
Day 3 -
Wednesday
FATIMA Morning sightseeing tour with a local guide
of Fatima where in 1917 Mary appeared to
local children and the “miracle of the sun”
occurred. We celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Our
Lady, followed by a visit the House of Lucia and House of
Francisco and Jacinta. The afternoon is free time
for relaxation, shopping or sightseeing. After dinner we
participate in the Candlelight Procession. Overnight
in Fatima.
Day 4 -
Thursday
FATIMA /
AVILA This
morning we depart Fatima and travel to Avila, Spain, first
stopping for a visit at Albe de Tormes where St. Teresa died in
1582. Inside the Carmelite convent of the
Annunciation is the tomb of St. Teresa and her remains in
a reliquary above the altar. Next we arrive in the
best-preserved walled city in the world and home of St.
Teresa of Avila who, with her spiritual director St. John
of the Cross, reformed the Carmelite Order. We
visit the Carmelite Monastery and celebrate Mass
there. We will visit the cell where St. Teresa lived
and see relics of Teresa and St. John of the Cross.
We’ll also tour the ancient city of Avila whose
architecture and culture remain the same from centuries
ago. Dinner and overnight in Avila.
Day 5 -
Friday
AVILA /
MADRID
This morning we depart Avila for
Madrid, Spain’s capital. Upon our arrival, we enjoy a
city tour of Madrid to include visits to the Royal Palace and
the Cathedral. We also see the Plaza Mayor, the main
square in Madrid. The remainder of our day is free.
Dinner and overnight in Madrid.
Day 6 -
Saturday
MADRID / ZARAGOZA /
MONTSERRAT
After breakfast we
depart Madrid for the spectacular mountain sanctuary, Our
Lady of Montserrat. Lunch time we will stop in
Zaragoza and visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar,
the place where Mary appeared to the Apostle James before
her Assumption into heaven. Next we arrive in
Montserrat and join in the celebration of Mass and the
"Liturgy of the Hours" at the Monastery with the monks of
Montserrat. Dinner and overnight in
Montserrat.
Day 7 -
Sunday
MONTSERRAT /
LOURDES
This morning we again enjoy the
sanctuary of Montserrat and participate in a tour of the
Monastery and grounds where we see the Statue of Our Lady of
Montserrat, the Way of the Cross and enjoy some of the most
incredible scenery in Spain. Next we depart Montserrat
for Lourdes where, in 1858, Mary appeared to a young Bernadette
Soubirous. Upon our arrival in Lourdes, we will celebrate
Mass at the basilica. The rest of the afternoon is for
relaxation, shopping or sightseeing before dinner.
Following dinner, we join the Candlelight Procession.
Overnight in Lourdes.
Day 8 -
Monday
LOURDES This morning after Mass we see the sites of
Lourdes where Mary appeared to Bernadette. We visit the
Grotto, the Spring and the healing Baths, as well as the
Basilica of St. Pius X, the Rosary Basilica and Bernadette’s
home. The afternoon is free for relaxation, sightseeing
or private devotion. Dinner and overnight in
Lourdes.
Day 9 -
Tuesday
LOURDES / BORDEAUX /
TOURS This
morning we depart Lourdes for Tours. En route we stop and
visit the town of Bordeaux for a visit of the city including
the church of St. Seurin and the Cathedral of St. Andre.
We depart Bordeaux and arrive in Tours where we visit its
beautiful Gothic Cathedral of St. Gatien, built between the
12th & 16th centuries. Dinner and overnight in
Tours.
Day 10 -
Wednesday
TOURS / LISIEUX /
PARIS
This morning we depart for and
arrive in Lisieux, home of St. Therese the Carmelite nun
known as “The Little Flower” and the Newest Doctor of the
Church. Here we will visit the Carmelite Convent
Chapel where St. Therese and her parents are
entombed. We celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St.
Therese before departing for Paris. Upon our arrival
in Paris we embark on a motor coach tour of the city at
night to include the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and
the Champs-Elysees. Dinner and overnight in
Paris.
Day 11 - Thursday
PARIS This morning we will visit the cathedral -of
NotreDame, an architectural marvel that stands on the banks of
the Seine on the site of an early Christian basilica that had
in turn been built on the site of a temple from the Roman
era. Here we will see the Gallery of the Kings, its Rose
Window and its many chapels. When then head to the
Montmartre District, the “Artists Quarter” of Paris and visit
the Romanesque and Byzantine Sacre Coeur Basilica on top of
Montmartre Hill. The basilica with its many domes and
arches contain wonderful sculptures, paintings and
mosaics. In the rear of the basilica you will see a bell
tower that houses the “Savoyarde”, a bell weighing nearly 19
tons and one of the largest in the world. Next we visit
Rue de Bac and see the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, where
St. Catherine Laboure received her apparitions of Mary.
Next we celebrate Mass at the Shrine of the Miraculous
Medal. Finally, we will visit the Shrine of Vincent de
Paul. Dinner and overnight in Paris.
Day 12 -
Friday
PARIS /
USA This
morning we depart Paris for our return flight home.
Though our pilgrimage has come to an end, its blessings will
last a lifetime and its graces are certain to draw us closer
each day to the Lord.
